Aide: Senator Yari Places 517 Zamfara Youths into Nigerian Army, 9 in Federal Agencies

Senator Abdul’aziz Yari (APC- Zamfara West) has secured Nigerian Army placements to 517 unemployed youths from Zamfara West Senatorial Senatorial District.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Coordinator of Yari’s Constituency Office, Alhaji Sha’ayau Sarkinfawa, stated this in Talata Mafara town, on Thursday at its monthly meeting.

The meeting was attended by the six Local Governments Coordinators of the office from Anka, Bakura, Bukkuyum, Gummi Maradun and Talata Mafara LGAs as well as other officials of the senatorial district office.

Sarkinfawa stated that a total of 517 unemployed youths from the six LGAs were provided with army jobs by the lawmaker through the various batches of the Nigerian Army recruitment exercises.

“That was to reduce unemployment among youths from the state as well as to complement the efforts of the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu in addressing the prevailing security challenges in the country.

“Another set of nine University graduates from the constituency were also provided with government jobs at various Federal Government’s establishment,” he said.

According to him, the lawmaker also approved the installation of 200 sets of solar street lights in four communities under Anka and Maradun LGAs that had been suffering from recurring security challenges.

“The provision of the street lights in the four communities was part of the lawmaker’s intervention towards tackling security challenges in the affected communities.

“This is in addition to various intervention programmes across security, health, education women and youths empowerment in the six LGAs of the district,”Sarkinfawa explained.

He reiterated the unwavering commitment of Yari to continue providing employment opportunities to the teeming unemployed youths in the area especially the graduates from various tertiary institutions.

Sarkinfawa restated Yari’s resolve to continue providing social economic support to vulnerable families especially those affected by banditry.

He called on the people of the state to continue to pray for lasting peace and stability in the state and the country in general. (NAN)
