“…..Dismissing the call for the sack of NPA MD., Bello-Koko, as hateful, Eze said Koko is one among the few serving in the current government that are striving to help the Tinubu regime get somewhat human face in the midst of the national crisis and any move to relief him of his appointment would definitely worsen the woes of the APC led federal government”. -Eze

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has disproved, what he termed deliberately concocted falsehood peddled against former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi by a nondescript group called – All Progressives Congress Young Leaders Forum (APC- YLF), in pursuit of some  veiled motives which has been brought to light by the instrumentality of diligent investigation.

Describing their allegation as a whistle blown on pure mendacity to persuasively decoy the former Rivers Governor into making public comments about the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the heat of the biting hardship occasioned by the shallow economic policies of the current government, Chief Eze said the incognito group in their frivolous attention-seeking voyage failed to support their futile assertions with the least shake of proof.

The APC – YLF had spuriously alleged that the Managing Director (MD) of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Mohammed Bello-Koko, is a stooge of Former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, and had perpetrated wholesale fraud under the cover of Amaechi and therefore deserves to be sacked.

In their wild-goose-chase, the group, through its National Coordinator, went further to accuse Bello-Koko of escaping prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC through the instrumentality of the former Minister.

In his reaction made available to the media, Chief Eze said Amaechi does not wield the influence to exempt himself, let alone another from investigation if occasion calls for it and wondered the source of the information the faceless group is deploying as a weapon against the former Minister who served out in flying colors and loud ovation from citizens, urging Nigerians to jettison the trending trash.

He said no responsible Nigerian youth or group of youth would abandon real issues in pursuit of shadows like the APC-YLF especially at a time when the country is faced with the challenges that accompany policy summersault and failed leadership – such as increasing poverty, hunger, starvation, job loss and downward trend of the currency at the global money market.

Eze called on the group to channel their energy against the trend of abject poverty that has pervaded the country as well as the concern of insecurity that has worsened food crisis and significantly contributed to price hike of basic commodities, stressing that millions of Nigerians now go to bed hungry and an unreported number die of hunger each day. He urged them to be responsible like the young people of Kenya who have show uncommon resilience in their engagement and pursuit of accountability from public servants.

Dismissing the call for the sack of NPA MD., Bello-Koko, as hateful, Eze said Koko is one among the few serving in the current government that are striving to help the Tinubu regime get somewhat human face in the midst of the national crisis and any move to relief him of his appointment would definitely worsen the woes of the APC led federal government.
