The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, has said that Peter Obi was not on the ballot in the recently conducted governorship election in Anambra State.

Tanko made this statement on Monday during an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the incumbent governor, Chukuwma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the election.

Obi lost his polling unit to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nicholas Ukachukwu.

Reacting, Tanko said, “Peter Obi campaigned on the basis of being a Labour Party member.

“He did that to give George Moghalu the opportunity to present himself to the people.

“The candidate of Peter Obi was not on the ballot, Peter Obi is strongly supported by his people.

“Let me say this. 17 years ago, the same Peter Obi ran elections with the incumbent governor, Soludo and former governor Chris Ngige, and he beat them. I can tell you that when you put Obi and such individuals on the ballot, he will still beat them.”
