APC Nigeria’s Only Tested Vehicle for Stability, Progress, Says Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has asserted that the APC is the only genuinely national, well-structured, and electorally sustainable political platform capable of fulfilling the current aspirations and future expectations of Nigerians.

Yilwatda made this statement in Abuja while addressing issues impacting the social, political and economic management of the nation, emphasizing that during a time of national transition and democratic consolidation, Nigeria cannot risk its future on confusion, instability, or politically misguided alternatives.

In a issued by Mr. Abimbola Tooki, his special adviser on media and communications strategy, the national chairman remarked that the APC has consistently exhibited the institutional maturity, national presence, political discipline, and administrative capability necessary to address the complex demands of a nation as vast, diverse, and strategically significant as Nigeria.

He noted that the party is not simply gearing up for the upcoming election cycle; rather, it is actively engaged in enhancing governance, fortifying democratic culture, boosting public trust, and establishing a more solid foundation for national development.

“The All Progressives Congress is not a temporary coalition formed out of convenience. It is a proven and resilient political entity, founded on structure, reach, experience, and the ability to address the genuine needs of Nigerians. We are the only party with the institutional strength and national scope to bear the responsibilities of both the present and the future of this nation,” he declared.

Yilwatda emphasized that while governance inherently involves pressures, challenges, and tough decisions, the APC remains dedicated to endorsing policies and reforms that will set Nigeria on a course toward long-term stability, productivity, and prosperity.

He remarked that the challenge facing the current administration is not merely superficial, but rather a significant responsibility of nation-building that demands courage, patience, sacrifice, and political stability. He further stated that the APC, as the ruling party, fully comprehends the magnitude of this historic duty and will persist in providing the necessary political support to uphold reforms and deliver democratic benefits to Nigerians.

In discussing the internal crises currently afflicting certain opposition parties, Yilwatda indicated that this scenario is a clear and troubling indication of their unpreparedness for national leadership.

He emphasized that any political entity that is unable to manage its internal affairs, reconcile differing viewpoints, enforce discipline, or foster consensus among its members cannot be entrusted with the sensitive responsibility of governing a complex federation like Nigeria.

He pointed out that the ongoing implosions, factional conflicts, legal disputes, ego clashes, and ideological vacuity that characterize many opposition parties today are not merely political challenges, but rather alarming indicators of deeper structural deficiencies and managerial ineptitude.

He underscored that it would be perilous and politically irresponsible for Nigerians to entrust the future of the nation to political figures who have consistently demonstrated an inability to maintain order within their own organization.

“A party that cannot govern itself is incapable of governing Nigeria. If a political platform is perpetually ensnared in self-inflicted crises, plagued by internal sabotage, and weakened by poor management, it has no right to seek the mandate of Nigerians to lead this country,” he asserted.

The APC national chairman stated that Nigerians must be astute enough to distinguish between mere noise and actual capability, propaganda and genuine preparation, as well as opportunism and authentic leadership.

He concluded by noting that while the APC continues to develop, reform, and enhance its internal processes, many opposition parties remain ensnared in a cycle of instability that renders them unfit for serious democratic engagement.

Yilwatda emphasized that the political operation in Osun should be founded on principles of discipline, structure, clarity of message, conflict management, and grassroots accuracy.

He highlighted the importance of a unified command structure within the campaign framework, ensuring that roles are clearly defined, responsibilities are measurable, and practical deliverables are established for each member of the campaign team.

He noted that confusion regarding authority, duplication of roles, ego-driven interference, and competing influences have historically undermined political operations and must not be permitted to weaken the APC’s initiatives in Osun.

“A successful political operation necessitates a singular command structure. There should be no ambiguity in authority, no overlap in responsibilities, and no space for unnecessary internal disruptions. Each member of the campaign team must be aware of their tasks, targets, and expected outcomes,” he stated.

Yilwatda also advocated for the creation of a strong conflict resolution mechanism within the Osun campaign framework to proactively manage grievances, misunderstandings, and tensions that may arise post-appointment, preventing them from escalating into factional disputes or sabotage.

He cautioned that unaddressed resentment within campaign structures can inflict greater harm than attacks from opposition, emphasizing that political issues neglected today could transform into electoral liabilities in the future.

Consequently, the APC national chairman instructed that the Osun campaign should not merely be a ceremonial political endeavor, but rather a data-driven, ward-focused, and message-coordinated initiative.

He asserted that the campaign must be grounded in local realities, informed by voter behavior, tailored to community issues, and executed with measurable accuracy across all wards and constituencies.
