Bandits Attack FCT Community, Abduct  7

The incident which  happened on Wednesday night at about ten o'clock in the night, has left the villagers in pandemonium as they scampered for safety.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits Wednesday attacked Gidan -Bijimi, a village in Kawu ward of Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and abducted seven persons.

The incident which  happened on Wednesday night at about ten o’clock in the night, has left the villagers in pandemonium as they scampered for safety.

It was gathered that the gunmen armed with AK-47 Rifles, stormed the village shooting sporadically before kidnapping their victims among them one male and six females.

A resident of the village who does not want to be mentioned in print for fear of being attacked, told Daily Sun, that
“we were all sitting outside and having a good time on wednesday night when all of a sudden we started to hear sounds of gunshots.

The source said that “before we knew what was happening and this was  about ten oclock or some minutes to ten, we started to run for our lives and it was while we were running that the bandits entered some houses in the community and kidnaped 7 of our people.

“The kidnapped person include one male and six females.

“As we speak, the bandits are yet to make contact with the families of the kidnapped victims”.

The Federal Capital Territory Police command is yet to confirm the report of the attack as the Police Public Relations officer Josephine Adeh, did not respond to calls on the incident.
