At least three residents have been killed and 10 others abducted after armed bandits invaded Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The incident was disclosed on Tuesday by conflict analyst Bakastine in a post on his X handle.

Bakastine said the victims included women and babies, adding that one of those killed was Aliyu M. Taketsaba, a Civil Defence officer serving in Mafara Division.

He also identified a primary school teacher, Tanimu Aliyu Takatsaba, among those abducted during the attack.

“Bandits that invaded Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara LGA, Zamfara State, killed three residents and abducted at least 10 residents, including women and babies,” Bakastine said.

The conflict analyst had earlier raised an alarm over the activities of armed groups in the area, calling for urgent security assistance to Takatsaba and surrounding communities.

In an earlier alert, he said, “Bandits are currently in Takatsaba village, Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara State. Security assistance is needed in the village and surrounding communities.”

The latest attack has heightened concerns over the security situation in communities around Talata Mafara, where armed groups have continued to pose a threat to residents.
