The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) will hold the second edition of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) on April 8, 2026, in Abuja.
The event is scheduled to take place at the NAF Conference Centre between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., according to organisers.
The awards, endorsed at BON’s 74th General Assembly held in Kano, are aimed at recognising outstanding contributions and promoting professional standards in Nigeria’s broadcast industry.
Organisers said a total of 204 entries, reflecting broadcast performances in 2024, were received for this year’s edition.
The selection process was overseen by a committee led by Danladi Bako, a former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), alongside representatives from key industry bodies including the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria.
Winners are expected to emerge across 24 categories covering radio and television, including station of the year, best reporter, best newscaster and best producer.
The event will also feature special recognitions for individuals who have contributed to the development of broadcasting in Nigeria. Among those listed for honours are Yemi Farounbi, John Momoh and Bimbo Oloyede, among others.
Posthumous awards will also be presented to notable figures in the industry, including Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications.
In addition, selected public officials and corporate organisations are to be recognised for their support to the media sector, as part of activities marking the awards ceremony.
