CHAN: Why we Beat Nigeria 4-0, Says Sudan Coach, Kwesi Appiah

Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah has suggested why his team defeated Nigeria 4-0 during both sides’ 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN, clash on Tuesday.

Appiah watched as Sudan eliminated the Super Eagles B team from the competition.

An own goal from Leonard Ngenge, a goal from Walieldin Khedr, and a brace from Abdel Raouf gave Appiah’s side victory against Eric Chelle’s men.

The result means Sudan are now on top of Group D with four points from two matches.

Sudan will now face Senegal in their final encounter to see which team will top the group.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Appiah suggested that his team won because his players absorb the pressure from Nigeria and played them on the counter.

“We knew it would be a tough game, especially the first 20 minutes,” Appiah  told reporters.

“We had to absorb the pressure from Nigeria and played them on the counter. Our level was much better than our previous performance against Congo.”
