A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogudu, Lagos State, has ordered the remand of 22-year-old security guard, Ifeanyi Kelvin Udoka, over the alleged rape of a four-year-old girl.

Presiding Magistrate, S.K. Matepo, directed that Udoka be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP,.

The matter has been adjourned to June 25 for further proceedings.

Udoka was arraigned on Monday by the Lagos State Police Command on charges relating to the alleged defilement of the minor.

According to the charge sheet, the alleged rape of the minor occurred at King Heritage School, located in Ikosi-Ketu.

A source familiar with the matter said the incident came to light when the child’s grandmother observed strange behaviour after the girl returned home from school.
