Seyi Sodimu, a veteran Nigerian singer, has discussed the influences of the so-called Afrobeats Big 3, who include Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
In a recent episode of the What I Know podcast, presented by Korty EO and Shaffy Bello, the Love Me Jeje crooner revealed that the Big 3 all have distinct kind of influences.
He added that Wizkid has a unique influence, Burna Boy has simply musical effect, and Davido’s influence extends beyond music.
He claimed that Davido can win a governorship election due to his influence but Burna Boy can’t due to the kind of influence he wields.
“The [Afrobeats] Big 3, each one is doing it [music] for different reasons. Burna Boy has conquered the stage. And he is good. Wizkid is special. And Davido surpasses music.
“What do I mean by that? If Davido ran for governor today, he would win. But I don’t think Burna Boy could win as a governor,” he said.
This is not the first time a public figure would be tipping Davido for governorship position.
