Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District, Delta State, have expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and their National Assembly representative, Senator Ede Dafinone, commending their effective leadership.
At a meeting held on Sunday at Dafinone’s residence, party leaders addressed rumours of disunity within the ruling party, reiterating the need for increased unity and collaboration among party members as the APC continues to strengthen its presence in Delta State. The gathering was chaired by Paulinus Akpeki, the leader of Delta Central APC.
During the session, Dafinone provided an update on his legislative activities and ongoing development projects in the Delta Central district.
He also encouraged party members to engage with his office to take advantage of available opportunities, especially those arising from federal and state programs.
The lawmaker also stressed the need to involve local party structures in the execution of projects to prevent any miscommunication.
Dafinone also dismissed rumours of disagreement between himself and former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, stating, “there is no rift between myself and Senator Omo-Agege. We must not allow baseless rumours to distract us from our collective goals.”
Additionally, he highlighted that Oborevwori’s defection to the APC now positions him as the party’s leader in Delta State, urging party members to rally behind the governor’s leadership to further strengthen the party within the state.
Akpeki echoed these sentiments, urging members to collaborate in strengthening the party’s presence throughout Delta State. He described the political landscape as dynamic and evolving, emphasizing the importance of staying focused and united.
He characterized the Governor’s defection as a pivotal and game-changing moment for the party, encouraging members to fully embrace this development.

The motion was moved by State Financial Secretary Mr. William Deniran and seconded by State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo.
