Gunmen Ambush Police Team in Delta, Kill DPO

The Police Command in Lagos State has confirmed the death of a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Ijanikin Police Station, CSP Bolaji Olugbenga.

Olugbenga was said to have died after he slumped in his office on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, this makes it two Lagos DPOs that have slumped and died in one week. And in the same axis.

The command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the tragedy on Friday night.

Olugbenga, the Ijanikin Police DPO, was said to have slumped in his office and died before he could be rushed to a hospital on Thursday night.

Expectedly, the news of his death threw the officers attached to the station into mourning.

A source said the body had been moved to a mortuary.

This is coming days after Superintendent of Police, SP Mojeed Salami, Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Seme, Lagos State Command, died mysteriously.

Also, like Bolaji, Salami reportedly collapsed in his office on Tuesday, January 10. And he was confirmed dead at the hospital he was rushed to.

He was feeling unwell. So he had sent an orderly for the DCO.

However, the orderly returned to meet the deceased on the floor gasping for breath.
