The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday, confirmed that its operatives stormed the ongoing presidential primary elections of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja.
In a statement, the anti-graft agency said its operatives went to the Moshood Kashimawo Abiola National Stadium to monitor delegates “inducement” and “financial malpractices”.
EFCC’s Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, told newsmen, “Our operatives are at the ongoing PDP presidential primary elections at the MKO Abiola Stadium to monitor the exercise, and most especially, to check delegates inducement and other financial malpractices”.
Social media was agog earlier on Saturday with the report of EFCC operatives storming the venue of the ongoing PDP’s presidential primary in Abuja following reports of alleged vote buying and bribing of delegates at the event.
