Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested party agents over alleged vote-buying during the ongoing Ekiti state governorship election.
According to a video making the rounds on social media, the party agents were arrested at a polling unit in Ola Oluwa Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti.
The suspects were said to have been caught with monies allegedly used to induce voters, an act the EFCC officials say were carried out surreptitiously.
The anti-graft agency operatives subsequently seized the bags and envelopes filled with money from the party agents.
The arrested persons were paraded at the Oke-Ori-Omi Area Division of the Nigerian Police by the EFCC operatives.
The EFCC also confirmed that its operatives uncovered another residence where some persons were caught with a book containing details of voters of certain voting area.
Unconfirmed reports said that the arrested party agents are members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
