Arsenal began their Premier League title defence in impressive fashion, defeating Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
The Gunners dominated proceedings and secured all three points through goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard.
Havertz opened the scoring before Saka doubled Arsenal’s advantage, while Ødegaard added the third goal to complete a comfortable victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The result gives Arsenal a perfect start to their bid to retain the Premier League title.
For Coventry, managed by former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, the defeat marked a difficult return to the Premier League as they struggled to contain the defending champions.
Arsenal will now look to build on the victory as the season progresses, while Coventry will seek to bounce back in their next league fixture.
