Manchester United will be without Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui in their Premier League opener against Arsenal.

Manager Ruben Amorim made this known on Friday.

United hosts the Gunners on Sunday to begin their 2025/2026 season.

Amorim, who is hoping for a fine start to the season, will have to do so without two important defenders.

Martinez will be unavailable as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee issue, while Mazraoui is sidelined with a hamstring strain.

Amorim has however confirmed that both Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee could potentially play, while Benjamin Sesko is in line for a debut.

“No, Licha [Lisandro Martinez] and Mazraoui are out, they cannot play this game.

“Josh [Zirkzee] and Andre [Onana] are recovering and are options. We’ll see,” Amorim said.
