Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka explained why he gave the team’s penalty to captain Martin Odegaard during their 5-2 victory over West Ham on Saturday.
The Gunners were already two goals up thanks to Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard when Saka was fouled inside the box.
The 23-year-old allowed Odegaard to score his first goal of the season.
Saka, however, took the second penalty that was awarded before the break to score Arsenal’s fifth.
When asked about his gesture, Saka replied: “Odegaard wanted to take the penalty… I’m more than happy to give him the ball.
“He always gives me the ball, so we have a good connection.
“Martin is a top player, he’s been playing so good since he came back.”
