Music, comedy and the elegance of royal hospitality will converge in a spectacular celebration of culture and creativity as Globacom hosts a distinguished royal banquet in honour of the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, Agbogidi, during the 2026 Ofala Festival.

Conceived as an enchanting blend of regal tradition and contemporary entertainment, the banquet will bring distinguished guests together for an evening in which the rhythms of indigenous music and the spontaneity of comedy will illuminate the enduring spirit of the Onitsha Kingdom.

The entertainment lineup features musicians Ikem Mazeli and Boy o Boy Onwuatu, backed by the Groove Band, with comedian MC Ezegetive set to inject humour into the proceedings. Ejiamike Obiozo will serve as Master of Ceremonies, guiding the evening’s performances and ceremonial highlights with the requisite poise and flair.

Boy o Boy Onwuatu is expected to captivate guests with his distinctive blend of indigenous sound, which draws on the rich rhythms of Igbo popular culture, making him a fitting addition to an occasion that celebrates cultural identity and communal pride. Ikem Mazeli will bring further musical colour to the gathering, while the Groove Band is expected to sustain the evening’s lively tempo with engaging live instrumentation.

Comedy will provide another defining moment of the banquet, with MC Ezegetive expected to keep guests entertained through his distinctive humour. His creative repertoire spans stand-up comedy, digital content and music, drawing inspiration from everyday Igbo experiences and the social nuances of southeastern Nigeria.

For Globacom, the banquet represents more than an evening of entertainment. It reflects the company’s conviction that culture remains a powerful instrument of identity, continuity and social cohesion.

As the Onitsha Kingdom celebrates its distinguished heritage under the leadership of Igwe Achebe, the royal banquet will provide an elegant meeting point between the dignity of tradition and the exuberance of contemporary entertainment.
