All 11 monarchs from the Federal Constituency are also expected to grace the ceremony and give a touch of tradition to the homecoming on Saturday, July 8, 2023 taking place at the Public Field, Agbor.

Speaking ahead of the reception, the Vice Chairman of the organising committee, Rear Admiral NP Agholor (rtd) said: “General LEO Irabor is our kinsman, colleague, friend and brother in whom we are well pleased.

“He has distinguished himself in service and acquitted himself after an unblemished service to the nation.

“It is because of this and the honour he has brought to our land that the Ika people have decided to give honour to whom honour is due.”

General Irabor was appointed Chief of Defence Staff in January 2021 and stepped down on June 19, 2023. He was formally pulled out of service by the top brass of the services on June 29, 2023.
