Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, yesterday led top government officials and party leaders of the All progressive Congress (APC) to pay a condolence visit to the Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa over the death of his mother late Mrs Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa.
Gov Okpebholo was accompanied on the condolence visit by State Chairman of APC Jarrett Tenebe, Deputy State Chairman Sylvester Aigboboh, Secretary of the party Lawrence Okah, Secretary to the State government, Musa Ikhilor Esq, serving commissioners, top government officials, party leaders amongst others.
The governor who thanked God for a life well spent said death is indispensable and a debt that all must pay one day urge the children to bear the loss as their mother lived a fulfilled life.
“Your mother has lived a good and fulfilled life and for her to have successful children like you, it shows that she lived well. Death is indispensable, it’s a debt that all must pay, only God can console your family”.
He noted that the people of the State will continue to pray for the Deputy Governor and the entire family because they need the prayers of all at this difficult time of their mother’s passing.
“Her death has left a vacuum in your life and that of the family, pray God gives you the fortitude to bear the loss. We will continue to pray for you because you need our prayers at this difficult time of her death because she means so much to you as you always speak about her”.
Senator Representing Edo North Senatorial Districts and former governor of Edo State Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said late Mrs Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa was not just the deputy governor’s mother but mother to all in the party and State.
He urged all her children to be strong, thanking God for a fulfilled life of their late mother who nurtured them to become successful in life.
“I am here in the entourage of the governor to pay this condolence visit for the passing of our mother. I know how you feel because you are very close to your mother and her departure will be greatly felt.
“She is not only your mother but mother to all of us in the party and the State. I urge you and your family as Christian to mourn like believers, thank God that you people are the ones burying her.
“You people have to be strong, thank God she saw you grow up and become someone great in the society. She must have felt fulfilled, may God Almighty comfort all and grant you the fortitude to bear the loss”.
Responding on behalf of the Idahosa family, the Deputy Governor of Edo State Dennis Idahosa thanked the governor and his entourage for the visit not more than 24 hours after the death of his mother.
“I appreciate you and your entourage. Despite your busy schedule you made time to visit us. We really appreciate this visit made the same day the matriarch of the family passed on, it shows your love for the family.
“I have kept you informed about my mother’s situation, praying she comes back home but unfortunately she didn’t. We will continue to meet as a family to discuss and in the coming days come out with the burial plans and communicate same to you and the leadership of the party”.
The Deputy Governor commended the governor for standing by him at the most difficult time and also for his political advice which has been useful in his political career.
“You are my boss, principal and now my senior brother as you have displayed through your actions. I contact you while making critical decisions and your advice has been very helpful.
“My mother is no more, she lived a very successful life and prayed for us and today her son is the Deputy governor of Edo State. We appreciate you and thank you for what you are doing for the family. Thank you for paying us this condolence visit 24 hours after her passing”.
