Former President Goodluck Jonathan has claimed he was betrayed while running for re-election in 2015.

Jonathan made the comment in Benin, the capital of Edo State, while celebrating Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe’s 70th birthday.

He considers Oghiadomhe to be one of his few buddies who will go to any length for him.

“Politics in the Nigerian standard is about betrayals,” said the former President of Nigeria.

“I have witnessed a lot of betrayal during the 2015 election. You will find it difficult to see somebody who says the same thing in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening.”

During Jonathan’s presidency, Oghiadomhe served as Chief of Staff between 2010 and 2014.

Recently, there has been significant speculation that the former president will run in the 2027 election on the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), platform. However, he has not confirmed the reports.
