In Disobedience to Court, DSS Denies Nnamdi Access to Legal Team Again

On Friday, November 1, the Department of State Services, DSS, stopped Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, from his legal team.

This was disclosed by Kanu’s Lead Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor via a post on X.

Ejimakor disclosed that DSS’s latest action was in continued disobedience to a court ruling ordering Kanu access to his legal team.

He vowed to continue all suspended legal processes with much vigour following the latest action.

Ejimakor wrote: “Today, in a blatant & continuing disobedience of extant court order, the DSS barred the Legal Team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from conducting a visitation with him.

“For this reason, all suspended legal actions to enforce compliance will proceed apace and with much vigour.”

In October, the DSS had denied Kanu access to his lawyers.

Kanu has been locked up by the DSS since he was rearrested and subjected to extraordinary rendition in 2021.

Following this action, the Abuja Federal High Court threatened to jail DSS Director General, Adeola Ajayi for contempt.
