under the watchful eyes of representatives of the participating political parties, Civil Society Organisations, observers, among others to ensure transparency.

“We have police officers that are going to export these materials from here to all the local government headquarters.
“So, today, the police officers will also be on guard to protect all these materials. Then by tomorrow, we expect the movement of these materials from the various local governments to the Registration Area Centres(RAC). Then from the RAC centers, we are taking them to the polling units where they will be used on Saturday.”
Omoseyindemi used the occasion to call on registered voters in the state to come out en masse and exercise their franchise for their choice candidates.
The Commissioner of Police Ekiti State 2026 Governorship election, Abayomi Shogunle, assured of adequate security of the materials to the designated places.
” We are putting plans in place to ensure that these materials, arrive safely at all designated polling units across the state by Saturday morning, to enable the commencement of voting at the stipulated time at the various polling units.
” We have considered different inputs. Apart from our own intelligence report, we have also considered risk assessment carried out by different stakeholders.
“We have put in place adequate measures to forestall the issues or the apprehension that people have mentioned. You know, let me state here, that the operational order as approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Tunji Disu is based on a security framework which is a multi-layered security framework. We have identified different elements and we are putting in place different measures to take care of the issues that have been identified.
“Multi-layered in the sense that different measures have been put in place. So, what I am trying to say is that we are putting in place adequate measures, including where you have mentioned, and some areas where I wouldn’t want to mention, to ensure that this election goes on freely, peacefully, violent-free, without any ugly incidents.”
