Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, says he is filled with shame after netizens attacked President Bola Tinubu’s wife, Remi Tinubu, over a recent viral video.
Social media has been flooded with reactions from Nigerian youths venting their anger following the First Lady’s controversial petty trade advice in the viral footage.
Remi had, at an event, advised Nigerians to set up small and medium businesses, stating that frying Akara for commercial purposes is not difficult.
The advice, however, didn’t go down well with netizens, who took to their social media handles to blast the First Lady for failing to create jobs for the unemployed youths.
Reacting to the backlash, Igbokwe, in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, slammed the netizens, wondering why the First Lady is being attacked over honest advice.
He wrote, “This generation frightens me to the marrows. An honest advice HE Oluremi Tinubu gave to young Nigerians on how to help themselves has become a tool to abuse and to pour invectives.
“Social Media has become a tool to unleash scurrilous drivels even when the truth is spoken.
“We will learn las las. See the empty heads and headless mobs dancing naked in the public space left and right. Awon werey everywhere. Shame has enveloped me”.
