Hundreds of commuters are stuck along Damaturu Maiduguri road currently blocked by suspected insurgents.

They are believed to have taken siege of the express way about 30 meters from Minok town around Lawan Mainari village axis.

 

“Not only did they attack commuters, on both sides, they succeeded in burning down an unspecified number of vehicles after the commuters abandoned their cars and ran away.

“Make shift houses in the nearby villages are also believed to have been set on fire on their trail,” said our source.

No word was heard from the RRS of the police or the army authorities as at the time of writing this report but sources told metrowatchonline.com  newspaper that a reinforcement of troops was on the way to dislodge them as at an hour ago.

Theatre Commander Major General Chris Musa was also seen moving with troops to the location which is about 58km from the Borno state capital.
