Mike Edwards Challenges Carter Efe to Boxing Bout

Former Big Brother Naija star Mike Edwards has challenged streamer and content creator Carter Efe to a boxing bout following his victory over singer Speed Darlington in their recent “Chaos in the Ring” contest.

Edwards, who is also a professional boxer, made the challenge on social media on Monday, urging Carter Efe to take on what he described as a “real challenge” instead of facing less experienced opponents.

According to Edwards, he had previously challenged Carter Efe after the streamer’s first boxing bout, but the proposed fight has yet to happen.

He added that Carter Efe had since competed in three bouts while continuing to avoid a match-up with him.

Edwards wrote, “@carterefe, stop the cap. Now you’re saying you want to fight ‘real men’ and ‘real fighters’…I’ve been right here the whole time.”

“Before your first fight, I told you: go handle business, get the W, then me and you make the super fight. I kept the receipts.”

According to Edwards, while Carter Efe had now had three fights, he had only fought once, questioning what he described as the streamer’s excuse for not accepting his challenge.

“Quit fighting these bums and accept a real challenge,” Edwards said.

The former BBNaija star, however, acknowledged the commercial side of the bouts, saying he understood that Carter Efe was “getting his bag,” but urged him to offer fans a bigger contest.

“Give the people value for their money. You don’t fight enough now,” he said.

Edwards also revealed that he had spoken with Dr Eazy Adamu and Balmoral Promotions about staging the proposed bout, calling for the fight to be officially arranged.

He said he would first handle his own business in Dubai on November 7 before facing Carter Efe in what he described as a fight Nigerian fans would want to see.

“Let’s give Nigeria the fight they actually want. Machine Mike vs Carter Efe,” he wrote.

Edwards concluded his challenge with a direct message to the streamer, saying, “You say you want a real fighter? I’m not hard to find. Quit ducking me.”

Recall that Carter Efe had said he was done fighting with local fighters like Portable and Speed Darlington; he wanted international opponents, real boxers like Mayweather, after winning his fight against Speed Darlington.
