Former Kogi West senator Dino Melaye says Nigeria has now become a nation of chartered borrowers.

Melaye said this in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Thursday.

He said that the nation under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari borrowed N83 trillion in eight years.

The former lawmaker, however, lamented that Nigeria has borrowed N158 trillion in three years under incumbent President Bola Tinubu.
