Nigerians Have Lost Trust in Political Elite, Says ADC

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this statement on Tuesday while responding to questions in an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a programme on Channels Television.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, says Nigerians have lost confidence and trust in the political elite of the country.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this statement on Tuesday while responding to questions in an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a programme on Channels Television.

Abdullahi also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of abandoning the primary purpose of being elected, stressing it could be what is causing the pressure for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to do what they are doing.

“The political elite regardless of party affiliation has lost the trust of the people. Why are we so preoccupied and behaving in such a way that Nigerians can begin to look at the entire political elite, across the political divides, and think that we don’t care about what they are going through?

“The only thing that will matter to Nigerians now is whatever we are doing. The political elite, generally, regardless of our party affiliation or orientation, have more or less lost the trust of the people.

“The ruling party itself has abandoned the primary purpose of being elected. They’ve abandoned governors, and they are in full political throttle. So, maybe that’s what is causing the pressure for PDP to do what they are doing, or is part of the game that they are all playing together,” he said.
