Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, will be formally decorated as the Grand Patron of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the 2025 Edo State Journalists Classic Dinner.

The highlight of the event will be the official decoration, to be conducted by the National President of the NUJ, Alhassan Yahya.

The prestigious ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Uyi Grand International Event Centre, Osagiede Street, GRA, Benin City. It is expected to draw key stakeholders from within and beyond the state.

Notable dignitaries expected at the event include Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; APC National Women Leader, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Idele Alile; and NUJ Deputy National President, Comrade Abimbola Oyetunde.

In a statement signed by Edo NUJ Chairman, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, and Secretary, Andy Egbon, the union confirmed that members of the 15 chapels under the Edo State Council of the NUJ are already mobilizing to attend the landmark occasion, which will feature several side attractions.
