The Wife of Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has welcomed the endorsement and support of the wives of commissioners in the state towards her pet project, the You Matter Charity Foundation.

Speaking on Monday when she received the Forum of Commissioners’ Wives, Delta State, on a courtesy visit to the Government House, Asaba, Deaconess Oborevwori urged the women to be available whenever the foundation beckoned as they were ambassadors of the project.

According to the governor’s wife, “As wives of Commissioners, you are already Ambassadors of the You Matter Charity Foundation, my pet project. I need your support to drive this vehicle, which is already loaded with goodies, to better the lives of Deltans. Your support and commitment will enable us to achieve our goal. Get ready to work; I am convinced that you will give your best.”

Deaconess Oborevwori enjoined the commissioners’ wives to embrace God and support their husbands and the state government with steadfast prayers, stressing that abiding by the spiritual injunction of ‘pray without ceasing’, will always get their prayers answered.

While emphasising the place of prayers in the actualisation of government policies and programmes, the governor’s wife urged the women to extend their intercessions for the success of the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, which has promised even development for all Deltans.

“I will not fail to remind you of the MORE agenda of the Governor, which your husbands are already part of; please do the same by lending your support.”

She further encouraged them to spice up their marital lives with expressions of love, saying that it is an investment that bears rewards. “Don’t always be at the receiving end, surprise your husbands, that is the way to go,’ she said.

Earlier in an address, the leader of the delegation and the wife of the Commissioner for Energy, Mrs. Efe Ehiwarior, said the women were in the government house to congratulate Governor Oborevwori on his court victories and to also identify with the governor’s wife.

Mrs. Ehiwarior, while commending the achievements recorded by the pet project of Deaconess Oborevwori, conveyed the commitment of the forum to fully support the You Matter Charity Foundation to fulfil its vision of creating a world where the worth of any individual is valued.
