Pastor Abioye Opens New Church after Retirement from Winners Chapel

Pastor David Abioye has established a new church following his retirement from Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel.

Abioye stated on Monday evening via his official X handle that he would begin Sunday morning services on May 4.

“Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning, 8:00am. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name,” he wrote on X.

“Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!” he added.

Abioye was the vice president of Winners Chapel before he and Thomas Aremu retired in October 2024.

Their retirement followed a review of the church’s leadership policy, which made 55 the official retirement age.

At that time, Aremu was 67 and Abioye was 63.

After his retirement, Abioye started a non-denominational ministry that held services every Sunday evening.

But on April 27, he announced that services would now hold in the morning, starting at 8:00 AM.

“Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name,” he said.
