Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar to at ‘Religion for Peace World Council’ Meeting in Istanbul

This edition hosting about 140 countries encompassing all religions of the world, focuses on examining the debt crisis mitigating against growth and development of low income group countries and adopting strategies to extricate them from this quagmire. Sultan Saad will speak at this session.

His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar III, is scheduled to speak at the Business session of the Religion for Peace World Council meeting taking place on Tuesday 29th of July 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 5 yearly meeting last held in Germany in 2020.

This edition hosting about 140 countries encompassing all religions of the world, focuses on examining the debt crisis mitigating against growth and development of low income group countries and adopting strategies to extricate them from this quagmire.
Sultan Saad will speak at this session.

Another critical item on the meeting’s agenda is the launch of the Shared Sacred Flourishing Initiative (SSFI) which invites religious and faith communities to “pursue a holistic vision of peace and reconciliation” as well as humane and human flourishing all over the world within all religions and communities.

A third session will also focus on “Faith, Ethics and dignity in the Age of Artificial intelligence” and how it affects our values, cultures and religions.

The World Council meeting is expected to end on Wednesday July 30th with a press conference.

Sultan Saad Abubakar arrived Istanbul on Monday and was received at the airport by the Ag Ambassador Mohammed Sadiq Abubakar.
