Tinubu Meets Pope Leo XIV at Vatican Mass

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday exchanged warm pleasantries with His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, at the Vatican during the official Mass marking the beginning of the new pontificate.

President Tinubu’s interface with Pope Leo XIV adds to the increasing list of international engagements targeted at fostering peace, unity, and cooperation across religious and cultural divides.

The Nigerian Leader, President Tinubu, who is on a diplomatic visit to the Vatican, was seen interacting briefly with Pope Leo XIV, in a gesture that reflects mutual respect and global goodwill.

The symbolic moment came as President Tinubu joined other world leaders and dignitaries in Rome to witness the solemn installation of the new head of the Catholic Church.

Presidential Spokesperson, Sunday Dare said on Sunday on his verified X handle@SundayDareSD that President Tinubu is purposed to serve all citizens irrespective.

He highlighted President Tinubu’s visit to the Vatican alongside four top Clergymen as resonating clearly in same direction.

“President Tinubu arrives the Vatican this morning and joins the official Mass.Tinubu leads a multi-religious nation and remains unbiased against any. His creed : though tribe, tongue and religion may differ in nationhood we stand- United.

“President Tinubu is purposed to serve all citizens irrespective. His visit to the Vatican alongside 4 Top Clergymen resonates clearly in this direction,” Dare stated.

The Nigerian leader’s presence at the historic event underscores his administration’s ongoing commitment to interfaith diplomacy, religious tolerance, and strengthening Nigeria’s ties with the Vatican and the broader global community.
