President Bola Tinubu has departed Saudi Arabia for Nigeria after completing the Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah.
Tinubu left King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Wednesday following his visit to the holy city, where he performed the lesser Hajj.
The President’s aircraft took off from the Royal Terminal at 5:13pm Saudi time, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Before his departure, Tinubu held a brief meeting with the Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the Royal Guest Palace within the airport.
The Deputy Governor, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Consul-General Muazam Ibrahim Nayaya accompanied the President to the airport.
During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Tinubu performed the Umrah rites, including the circumambulation of the Holy Ka’abah.
He also visited the inner chambers of the sacred structure, where he offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace, security, unity and prosperity.
Tinubu is expected to visit Akwa Ibom State on Friday, November 6, for a one-day working visit before travelling to Rivers State on Saturday to attend the APC presidential campaign rally.
