However, Ibrahimovic hopes to hold talks with the 27-year-old about the move.

Rashford has been linked with a switch to the Serie A club, as he seeks to leave Old Trafford for “a new challenge”.

Ruben Amorim, the new manager, has exiled the England forward.

However, Barcelona and Monaco are also reportedly interested in Rashford.

Sergio Conceicao, Milan’s manager, has praised Rashford as a “good player,” and Ibrahimovic has now approved his former United teammate.

“I know him very well, I played with him when he was young, he is now an adult and established,” Ibrahimovic told Sky.

“He did great things with United and today that is his club. How to convince him? Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world, everyone wants to play here.

“This is a difficult operation, we’ll see if we can talk to him.”
