Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist in Taraba

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected terrorist in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, following his interception by vigilant residents in the community.

Security sources disclosed to counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, that the suspect was apprehended on April 6, 2026, at Rafin Kada community along the Rafin Kada–Wukari axis.

In a post on his X handle, Makama revealed the source said the suspect was initially intercepted by locals under suspicious circumstances before being handed over to troops at about 8:00 p.m.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is allegedly a member of a terrorist group operating withTroopsin the area.

He was reportedly arrested while attempting to purchase marijuana in the community and was found in possession of N2,200 at the time.

The suspect is currently in military custody undergoing further interrogation, while efforts have been intensified to track down other members of the suspected criminal network operating within the axis.
