Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has ranked Inter Milan versus Barcelona as the best semi-final encounter in the history of the UEFA Champions League.
Recall that Inter Milan eliminated Barcelona from the Champions League semi-final second leg on Tuesday night.
The match ended 4-3 in favour of the Serie A side at San Siro.
Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu had given Inter a 2-0 lead at half time.
But Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo equalized for the Blaugrana before Raphinha extended the visitors’ lead.
Francesco Acerbi then equalized for the Serie A giants as the game ended in a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes.
However, in the first half of extra-time, Davide Frattesi scored the winning goal to send Simeone Inzaghi’s men to the final.
“When you look back at history, the Champions League semifinal is some of the most entertaining and high quality of game that you will ever see in football and this is right up there and not right up there, this is arguably one of the best, if not the best in the Champions League era,” Carragher said via (CBS Sports).
