Venezuela President Maduro Now in New York Jail

Venezuela President Maduro Now in New York Jail

Captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have arrived at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn in New York after US forces seized them from their Caracas compound in an extraordinary military operation.

Recall that after his arrest, Maduro was flown out of Caracas in a US helicopter and taken aboard the USS Iwo Jima.

Arriving in New York, he was taken to the offices of the US Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA.

According to US media, the Venezuelan President is expected to appear in court on drugs and weapons charges, which could happen as soon as Monday.
