Nigeria’s Super Falcons advanced to the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Zambia’s Copper Queens 5-0.
Nigeria had an excellent start to the game, with centre-back Osinachi Ohale heading home Esther Okoronkwo’s cross in the second minute.
Both teams then battled for control of the match, with Zambia captain Barbara Banda giving the Super Falcons’ defence a stern test.
Tosin Demehin nodded in another exquisite cross from Okoronkwo to make it 4–0 in the 68th minute.
There was still time for one more, as Folashade Ijamilusi slammed home Ajibade’s pass right on the 90-minute mark.
Justine Madugu’s side will face the winner of the South Africa versus Senegal clash in the semi-finals next Tuesday.
