Dachung Bagos, immediate past member representing Jos South/East Federal Constituency, says the people of Plateau will move with Gov. Caleb Mutfwang irrespective of his party affiliation.

Bagos in an interview with Newsmen in Abuja on Monday, said regardless of the political platform Mutfwang eventually chooses, the people of Plateau are committed to ensuring he secures a second term in office.

He said that the ongoing crisis in the PDP had made it impossible for serious politicians in the state to rely on the party’s structures, especially with the unresolved conflict between the Seyi Makinde and Wike-led factions.

According to him, though PDP remains beloved in the state, sentiment alone cannot deliver electoral victory.

“In the PDP today who is going to sign my form?” he asked rhetorically.

“Plateau is PDP, yes, but you cannot win elections on sentiment. We must tell ourselves the truth.”

The former lawmaker explained that if the PDP failed to put its house in order before 2027, politicians in the state would act in line with the realities on the ground.

“The reality is that the Plateau people will rally round Gov. Mutfwang, not the party.

“We are so much in love with the governor and wherever he goes, we will support him. Loyalty this time is to the candidate, not the party,” he said.

Bagos emphasised that for the average Plateau person, the equation was simple; the most important thing is for Mutfwang to be governor, not PDP, not APC.

“Plateau wants Mutfwang, period,” he emphasised.
