Popular Afrobeat singer Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid has become the first African artist to surpass 8 billion Spotify streams.

The 8 billion streams contain both leads and features.

His collaboration with Canadian artist Drake, ‘One Dance,’ is his most streamed song on the site, with over 2 billion views.

‘One Dance’ holds the Guinness World Record for the first track to reach one billion Spotify streams.

With around a billion streams, Wizkid’s most streamed album on the site is the deluxe edition of his fourth studio album, ‘Made In Lagos’.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy has 7.2 billion Spotify streams, giving him the platform’s second most-streamed African musician.

He is the most followed Afrobeats artiste on the platform.
