Zamfara Police Boss Receives  Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army

The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command (CP) Kolo Yusuf has reassured sustained and improved working synergy with all the sister security agencies to effectively curtail Banditry, Kidnapping and other heinous crime bedevilling the state for over a decade.

The CP gave the reassurance Tuesday when he received the new Commander 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army who visited him at the Police Command Headquarters, Gusau.

 

The CP who commended the complementary support of the military in internal security operations said, the only solution to the prevailing challenges is to improve and sustain the existing interagency synergy while doing away with rivalry.

 

The CP thanked the Brigade Commander for the timely visit and reassured him of the Command’s continuous partnership with the military and other stakeholders in its quest to restore lasting peace and security in the state.

 

Earlier in his remarks, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ahmed commended the resilience of the Police in Zamfara especially during the just concluded 2023 General elections noting that, Police being the lead agency, in its role in internal security operations can not be over emphasised.

 

He release by the command’s spokesman Mohammed Shehu a superintendent of police stated that the new New Commander reiterated that, the Army’s business in the city is only to support the Police because of its superior firepower.

 

The Commander further acknowledged the operational prowess of CP Kolo Yusuf, and called on him to document his working experiences for future reference.

 

A close door session was held for other sensitive security issues to be discussed extensively in a bid to stem the tide of activities of criminal elements in the state.
