Some casualties have reportedly been transferred to the nearby hospitals.

When reached, the Anambra governor’s chief press secretary, Charles Aburime, confirmed the incident.

According to Aburime, the state government is closely monitoring the situation and will issue a statement soon.

The incident comes just a few days after around 35 people, mostly children, were killed in a stampede at a children’s funfair in Ibadan, Oyo state’s capital.
