Bandits on Wednesday night launched a violent attack on the Dabagin Yari community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing several people and injuring many others.

A large number of residents, including women and children, were also abducted during the assault.

Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed details of the attack on Thursday in a post on X.

“Last night, bandits invaded the Dabagin Yari community in Wurno LGA of Sokoto State. During the attack, several residents were killed, many others sustained injuries, and a high number of people including women and children were abducted.
“The assault has left the community in deep fear and mourning. How can anyone justify calling such bandits MUSLIM or claiming their crimes are acts of JIHAD, when Islam clearly forbids the murder of innocents, the kidnapping of women and children, and the spreading of terror?,” Bakatsine wrote.
