Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has received Vice President Kashim Shettima, who arrived in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The VP is in the state to participate in the 163rd Nigeria Army Day Celebration, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The grand finale of the event is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The annual event commemorates the establishment of the Nigerian Army and honours the courage, sacrifice, and professionalism of officers and soldiers in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and supporting internal security operations.
The celebration also features military parades, exhibitions, awards, and other activities highlighting the Army’s operational achievements and its role in national development.
