Olawande spoke on Wednesday while joining the governor’s entourage to inspect ongoing projects across Benin metropolis and other parts of the state.

He said the administration’s people-oriented projects were already transforming communities and improving livelihoods across Edo.

According to him, Governor Okpebholo is doing so much in infrastructural development, taking projects directly to the grassroots.

Olawande noted that in spite of criticism on social media, the governor remained focused on development and the welfare of Edo people.

He added that some individuals were attempting to sabotage the administration’s efforts, but the governor continued to put Edo first.

“We have inspected projects, and this administration is delivering meaningful infrastructure to communities,” Olawande said.

He described the Okpebholo-led government as people-centred, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s people-oriented governance philosophy.

Governor Okpebholo thanked the minister for the visit and assured residents of sustained dividends of democracy through practical governance.

He said projects were spread across the state, reflecting his administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

The governor said: “The people are acknowledging our efforts, as shown by their jubilation and cheers.

“My critics can criticise, but Edo is for President Tinubu. Every kobo spent here reflects his support for Edo.”

The Special Adviser on Projects, Mrs Phoebe Williams-Bello, highlighted erosion control works at Obaseki Street, Ikpoba Hill.

She said the area, once a refuse dump due to gully erosion, was being reclaimed following the governor’s intervention.

Williams-Bello explained that an expanded underground drainage system was added to manage increased water volume.

Inspected areas included Temboga Road, Uteh Palace Road, Ikpoba Hill flyover, Obaseki Street erosion site, Adesuwa Junction flyover, and Etete Road.
