The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission has provided a tangible solution to the ongoing face-off between the Dangote Refinery and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria.
In a statement on Sunday, the Chief Executive Officer of NUPRC, Gbenga Komolafe, urged both parties to embrace dialogue so as not to disrupt the country’s energy supply.
He urged all parties in the dispute to seek common ground to resolve the issues in the interest of the country.
“Regardless of the fact that the issues involved are purely mid- and downstream affairs, our take is that parties should refrain from what will cause disruption in energy supply in the country. We believe that the issues involved are issues that parties can actually sit down and discuss and reach an amicable solution for the good of the country.”
This comes as PENGASSAN on Sunday, announced a strike to pressure the Dangote Refinery to reverse the sack of over 800 workers.
