Tinubu Surrounded by Praise Singers, Says Adamu Garba

A member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba, has said that sycophants surrounding President Bola Tinubu are misleading him into believing that all is well with the country and the ruling party, when the opposite is the case.

Garba, a former presidential aspirant, made the statement on Tuesday while appearing as a guest on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

He described members of the opposition coalition formed under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as vultures poised to feast on APC and exploit the weakness of the ruling party following the controversial resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman.

“They (ADC coalition) hope for our loss, and that is why we need to be serious. That is the more reason why we need to be very sincere with ourselves and make sure that the leadership of the party is somebody that is truthful and capable of listening to criticisms and accepting the facts without any flattery, without any sycophancy because I believe there is a lot of sycophants around the president; people are telling him that things are okay – things are not okay,” he said.

According to him, the attrition in APC membership across northern Nigeria following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari was not unexpected, given the vacuum left by his passing.
