Zamfara: Senator Yari’s 20,000 Scholarships to Orphans, Vulnerable Excites APC Chairman

By Ishaq Zaki

Former Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, has commended Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, for awarding full education scholarships to 20,000 orphans and vulnerable children.
The beneficiaries were drawn from underprivileged families in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the ex-chairman in Gusau on Wednesday.

Danfulani described the gesture as not only commendable but also a path to a brighter future.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Yari represents Zamfara West Senatorial District at the senate.

“I want to use this medium to appreciate Sen. Yari for his various intervention programmes for vulnerable and underprivileged individuals and families across the state.

“One major intervention is the commencement of full education sponsorship for 20,000 orphans and less privileged children.

“The beneciaries will enjoy scholarships from primary, secondary to tertiary levels.

“As we know, education is the backbone of societal development. It also plays a vital role in promoting morality, especially in the fight against banditry and other social vices,” he said.

Danfulani noted that Yari also deserves commendation for his recent donation of 14 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) to support both the federal and Zamfara governments in the fight against banditry.

“Currently, the lawmaker is building 3,000 houses for flood victims in Gummi Local Government Area, a project estimated to gulp over N400 million,” he added.

Danfulani also urged politicians in the state to desist from character assassination.

“I appeal to all Nigerians, especially the people of Zamfara, to stop politics of character assassination, particularly attacking leaders who have the interest of the state and the nation at heart,” he said.

Danfulani described the recent media attacks on the former governor as a setback to the development of the state.
