Nasarawa State police have successfully rescued a three-day-old baby abducted in Mararaba, following a swift operation that led to the arrest of two suspects.

The incident reportedly occurred on March 28, 2026, when 19-year-old mother Aisha Bada reported that her newborn had been taken from her home in Unguwan Bawa, Orange Market.

Her husband, Abubakar Isah, a commercial tricycle operator, had been away on business in Lagos for several months.

According to police, two unidentified men broke into the building, threatened her, and kidnapped the infant. The family promptly alerted the police, prompting a full-scale investigation.

“The baby was recovered safely and is in good health,” a police spokesperson said. “The suspects have confessed and provided information about an accomplice who is still at large.”

The rescued infant was taken to Mararaba Medical Centre for a thorough health check before being reunited with the family.

Authorities noted that the case remains under investigation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for further action.
